Harrys LapTimer is the advanced tool for car enthusiast. It records all types of sensor data provided by your iPhone/iPod/iPad (or external sensors), combines them, and makes them available to optimize your drive. Over time, you will get insights on your car and in your driving, not known before.

LapTimer offers more than 1300 predefined tracks world wide. With its assistants, it is extremely easy to setup - just click your track and drive. It fully automates your lap timing using GPS, and presents the results to all kinds of media.

You are not limited to track driving only. For example, you may define your home and working locations as a track, collect statistics on different ways chosen, and analyze / optimize the time used every day.

Want to show your drive to your friends? LapTimer Petrolhead and above generates beautiful in car video recordings with all kinds of data overlaid, ready to be presented - e.g. on youtube. Even without video, recorded data can be analyzed using purpose designed views, making it easy to analyze and improve your driving performance.

Using online racing, you can use LapTimer in competition. LapTimer offers a Hall of Fame, allows watching you and your friends on track - all in real time. Compare your sector times, braking / acceleration points, and learn from each other.

You can start with your plain iPhone in the beginning and add external GPS and OBD II sensors later, step by step, and as you need it. LapTimer itself comes in three different editions: LapTimer Rookie is the entry level with all you need for lap timing; LapTimer Petrolhead is the advanced version including lots of video features, and LapTimer Grand Prix is the edition for professionals including Multi Cam recording, Health Kit integration, and advanced sensor and analytics functionality.

This application really rocks... and when I experienced a challenging issue due to my old device, the support delivered through the night was fantastic, efficient and to the point allowing me to use it on the next day while on the race track!!! This deserves a 6* rating!

This application is fantastic, working with a lot of accessories or alone. Congrats to Harald Schlangmann for his awsome work.

Using this software in a Track Day makes all the difference! You can see live your lap times and also capture nice moments using the video recorder function! Of course, the best feature is the video+data overlap! Works great!

amazing app, best service. Have an IPod touch 1st Gen. and a TomTom GPS device. Harry made the programm running on this configuration. Thanks a lot. Yesterday on the Nordschleife first testing. Some problems to find the right track automaticly , Nordschleife of Nordschleife BTG (thats special). At the end it was my fault. I think I should make some experts settings on detection. Bridge is very early (make 2 sec.). I will test in Spa in 3 weeks. For me "timer" is the best view. I need to concentrate on the track. Green color for better time would be fine. keep racing

Some bad moments

i try yesterday the new harry s timer grand prix with the new design what a disapointement during recording all features looking perfect then when i came back home only 1 video no possibility to overlay anylap at least with previous version i was able to do this perfectly why pay 25 euros for a such bad application

This app is a disaster! For almost 20£ it should be perfect- instead it crashes the whole time and refuses to save video. Im furious- I bought this app for a one off track day at Spa-Francorchamps and although the app confirmed it had saved the lap each time I passed the start finish line, when I came to review the video later on, there was just a big, fat "NO" where the footage should be. Not a single bit of video from the whole day! The help file claims the video has synchronized itself to somewhere else or been deleted, neither of which I have done. I wish Id stuck with CMS Lap Timer; its better, simpler, more reliable and much more fairly priced than Harrys Lap Timer.

Promises camera integration with video overlay. Purchased it for this reason only. Does not control GoPro without purchase of "Gran Prix" Add-on. Bought the Add-on. Does not control GoPro (albeit now saying it does), and does not create the video overlay with the GoPro. I just wasted fifty bucks on an application Im never going to use because it does not do what it advertises to do. Plus, "Not eligible for a refund"... Awesome! Not...

The most irritating thing is that this seems to be the best app for this sort of thing. The user interface is some sick, cruel joke. The app locks up from time to time. The list of tracks truncated the useful information (Buttonwillow clockwise vs counter clockwise). The settings are impossible to understand. The problem is, if you can get it set up and working the results are brilliant. The overlay of the track map, accelerometer and speed over video are great. Unfortunately, you cant hit a button to automatically overlay ever lap, you have to manually go through and overlay each one. Adding insult to injury, the overlay settings are reset every time you go in to overlay, so you have to remember every time to reset the lead in and out to zero and disable that stupid count-down thing. Trying to load maps is an excercise in frustration. First of all, Im usually near a track when I want to load it, why not show me the nearby tracks? When tracks nearby have variants, the most important part of the track name is the part that differs (for Thunderhill, is this with the bypass or without? For Buttonwillow, is this clockwise or counter clockwise?). The track list shows the names and truncates the interesting bits. Tapping on the track usually results in loading the details page instead of loading the track.

I was looking forward to this app helping me to improve my times on Streets of Willow. After 3 sessions of running I gave up, the app never worked! A guy at the track said it works sometimes. Very disappointed! Wish I could get my $ back.

Lets see: Awful interface, very unstable, exceptionally difficult to use, inaccurate, full of bugs, overly complex, expensive. These are some adjective that describe the app. Only one tutorial that is available online that is both outdated and useless. Great idea for an app awful execution
